Scholarships

The Chisholm Trail 100 Club announced February 18th that it has increased the award amount for its annual scholarship to $8,000 each beginning with the 2026 award cycle. These scholarships are dedicated to supporting the dependents of local First Responders as they pursue their educational and career goals. Click here for the video announcement of the scholarship increases.

The Chisholm Trail 100 Club Scholarship is available to eligible dependents* of First Responders (who serve within the Club’s service area of Johnson, Somervell and Hood counties) who are graduating high school in 2026 and planning to pursue additional education at an accredited college, university, trade school, technical school, or vocational school. The increased scholarship amounts underscore the Chisholm Trail 100 Club’s ongoing commitment to “stand in the gap” for First Responders and their families, not only in times of tragedy but also in moments of opportunity and transition.

“Our First Responders sacrifice so much for our communities, and their families are a vital part of that service,” said Bonnie Davis, Scholarship Chairman of the Chisholm Trail 100 Club. “By increasing these scholarship awards to $8,000, we hope to ease some of the financial burden that comes with higher education and to honor the dedication and resilience of First Responder families.”

Eligible students are encouraged to apply now. Completed scholarship applications must be submitted by March 31, 2026. Application forms and detailed eligibility information can be downloaded directly from the Chisholm Trail 100 Club website at CT100.org.

*The Chisholm Trail 100 Club serves First Responders and their families across the tri-county area (of Johnson, Somervell and Hood counties) through lineofduty benefits, support services, and educational opportunities.

Legacy Namesake Scholarships

In February 2026, the Chisholm Trail 100 Club restructured and renamed their previous scholarship program. The Chisholm Trail 100 Club is excited to announce two new namesake legacy scholarships are now available on an annual basis to eligible applicants. The Erinakes Family Scholarship and the Calandro Family Scholarship legacy funds represent longstanding partnerships with families who share the Club’s mission to recognize and support the next generation.

With the Club’s restructuring of these assets, it now allows both of these legacy namesake scholarships to be permanently endowed – ensuring that future generations of dependents of First Responders can continue to receive financial assistance with their educational and career pursuits after high school.

ERINAKES FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

The Erinakes Family has been associated with the Chisholm Trail 100 Club since 2011. Michael Erinakes currently serves at the 2024-2026 President of the Chisholm Trail 100 Club. Erinakes and his family began the Chisholm Trail 100 Club’s “MAAD Hunter Venture Capital Group, Inc. Scholarship” in 2016 and has been instrumental in growing the scholarship opportunities of the Chisholm Trail 100 Club. Since the Club’s scholarship program inception, a total of 22 high school graduates have benefitted from the Club’s scholarship program. The Erinakes family is also influential in raising general funds for the Chisholm Trail 100 Club’s mission by hosting the annual “100 Shots for the 100 Club” VIP Party at their MAAD H Ranch; as well as integrating their business resources directly into the Club's mission to "stand in the gap for our community's First Responders and their families during times of tragedy".

Calandro Family Scholarship

The Calandro Family understands first-hand of the mission of the 100 Clubs which are organized and independent clubs across the United States. John Calandro, Jr. was born in Detroit, Michigan and went to work for the Detroit Police Department after serving his country in the Navy. Calandro was killed in August 1963 by a drunk driver while on-duty as a motorcycle patrol office and left behind his wife Joyce, with three young children – John, III (5), Scott (2) and Kevin (6 months old). The Detroit 100 Club financially assisted the Calandro family by setting up college funds for each of the siblings. Calandro’s eldest son - John Calandro, III spoke at the Chisholm Trail 100 Club’s 2014 Annual Meeting about the life-changing impact the 100 Club had on his family; and during his talk, encouraged the Chisholm Trail 100 Club members/attendees to raise funds for a scholarship. Calandro III challenged those in attendance to raise $5,000 in donations; and if so, he would match the total donation. Fast forward 11 years and the donations and funds have continued to grow enabling this fund to become a legacy namesake scholarship for the Club and keeping alive the Calandro legacy.
