What started as a grassroots idea quickly spread through both business and private communities — built on one simple belief: when tragedy strikes, we stand behind our heroes. Our organization provides financial and emotional assistance to the families of law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMS responders injured or killed in the line of duty. OUR ROOTS — THE FIRST 100 CLUBA Tradition Born From Compassion The first “100 Club” began in Detroit, Michigan, in 1952, when a local businessman, William Packer, was moved to action after a police officer was killed in the line of duty. He reached out to 100 friends, asking each to contribute to a fund for the fallen officer’s family. Their generosity paid off the family’s mortgage, covered their bills, and even secured an education fund for the officer’s unborn child.
